Arrived on time 12:20 at Harbin Airport. I was not expecting a Nepali Guy would be waiting for me to receive. We had to wait for more than 2 hours to receive another International Students arriving from South Korea.
It took 1 hr and 15 minutes to reach the International Student Dormitory because of the traffic otherwise it was nearly 1 hour drive. One good thing about China is many airports are made far away from the cities or residential area. The dormitory was a 12 floor building (There is no Ground Floor in China, therefore there are total 13 number of floors) with about 800 single rooms, looks very nice in international style. It didn't take much time to register for the dormitory because the university had already arranged everything and I was soon in my room 1238. It was on the 12th floor in Chinese.
The room was well furnished and marble floor; everything was there; except for a pillow and a quilt. I didn't noticed it until I was about to sleep. There is a cupboard and wall-cupboard for clothes, a study table and a chair, a bed of course, with soft mattress, water dispenser and a empty jar. One have to buy drinking water (8 CYN for a jar of water 18.9 Liters). There is also a refrigerator. Bathroom is very good, western style. With water heater for hot water shower.
12th floor : good view to the city and the university of course. There is ongoing construction around the city. Maybe to support the growing population of the city. I don't know the stat correctly but someone told me around 8 million people live in the city.
Since I'd arrived at Harbin yesterday, every electronic devices I had (Mobile Phone, I-Pod and Laptop) is dead (Not-Laptop, yet). There is not light in my room. I have to purchase a card and punch it into the meter that is outside the room. The card didn't worked that time, because the office was closed by then I have to sleep in the dark. I was too tired, I wanted to sleep, so I stayed in my room with no light and no Internet. He said he'd be back early in the morning and we'd get SIM card and finish all the settlements today, but it's 11 in the morning and he didn't show up yet. Laptop battery is down to 10%. It's really hard to adjust in new place where everyone is busy and you don't speak the local language.
Some pictures I took from my room.
